Here at LaBCaF, we believe in taking care of others by teaching them how to take care of themselves. That is the entire focus of our company. So we are always excited when we find an organization that shares that same desire. We’re even more excited when we are able to help that organization.
My wife Penny met the Senior Pastor of Hopewell Baptist Church in Clanton Alabama a few months ago. When Senior Pastor Larry Sailes, who is also a Navy retiree (thank you for your military service!) found out what we did, he wanted to offer one of our courses to the women of his congregation. But he decided to do even more.
Pastor Sailes, knowing the challenges that practically all women face with safety, decided to host our Situational Awareness 101 (Shecret Agent) course, and open it up to all women.
Everyone always hears “to avoid being a victim of crime, you must be more aware!” But no one ever explains HOW to be more aware or WHAT to be more aware of. Well that’s exactly the focus of the course Hopewell Baptist Church is hosting.
In this course, we’ll be teaching the women of Clanton (ages 14 and up):
1) What it means to “be aware”
2) How to “turn up the volume” on your personal awareness
3) Three things to focus your awareness on:
-Things that can help you out of a situation
-Things that can protect you
-Identifying potential and active “threats” to you & your family
4) Finally, some simple mental exercises to help you stay aware without feeling paranoid all the time!
Thanks to the forward thinking of Pastor Larry Sailes and his passion for outreach into the community, many women of all ages will get the opportunity to be safer no matter where they are AND to meet the wonderfully welcoming and loving members of Hopewell Baptist Church.
We are so excited to work with churches who care about not only the souls of men and women everywhere, but about their personal safety as well.
Pastor Sailes, thank you for being such a great example of leadership in your community.

As a thank you for inviting us to help in serving their community, we will be donating a portion of our class fees back to Hopewell Baptist Church and providing an additional presentation on “pepper spray for self-defense” at no cost to attendees!
